WEISS.PRESS

FOR COLIN

Scrolls

Colin, this is something new I’ve been building called WEISS.PRESS. It’s made to read easily on a tablet. I’m practicing the automation behind it. Later I want to use it for project management and for delivering information in a very curated way. Consider this an early test.

Take a look at this whenever scrollprize.org/winners.

I think you would be impressed… look how this is being managed and also look at the donors, lots of interesting people… they each have their own landing page…

Look how this is being managed.

PHerc. 1667: the carbonized scroll as a blackened lump, its X-ray cross-section and 3D surface, then three bands of flattened papyrus with columns of Greek text brought out in white.

October 2023: Luke Farritor, a 21-year-old computer science student, read the first word ever recovered from inside an unopened Herculaneum scroll. The word was Greek for purple. Read the story.

Also look at the donors, lots of interesting people… they each have their own landing page…
